Is it possible to run these on a L1E version and keep the brake light functionality? 1 Answer
Some customers have adapted a custom brake sensor. But the brakes themselves don't include the magnetic contractor to trigger the light signal.
Exceptional braking power and huge control with unrivalled precision.

The legendary Hope V4 Brake. Reinvented.
With 40% more stopping power, the Tech 4 V4 pushes the limit.
Built to perfection in the UK Hope factory, the Tech 4 V4 sets a new standard in braking performance. The CNC machined, monoblock aluminium design of both the 4-piston caliper and master-cylinder features the best lever to piston braking force ratio.
This technological prowess is made possible by Hope's state of the art manufacturing process. First of all, Hope managed to improve both mechanical and hydraulic ratios by revising the master cylinder's bore diameter, in addition to a lever redesign.
This leads to an increased modulation with less effort, thus lessening muscular fatigue and arm-pump.
What's more, the master cylinder's lever uses roller bearings to completely eliminate friction, resulting in a linear relationship between lever force and brake pressure, enhancing even more braking control.
In addition, the caliper was also redesigned with hybrid style pistons: a stainless steel outter shell for low friction, smooth movement and low maintenance, combined with a phenolic insert for controlled heat transfer under extreme loads.
Although the performance has been drastically increased, the ergonomics have been preserved with the famous tool-free adjustable levers that allow for instant bite point and reach tuning.
Last but not least, this pair of Hope brakes comes with aviation braided-hose for the very best efficiency. On top of being more robust to eventual crashes, the braided hydraulic hose doesn't expand under hydraulic pressure. The full pressure is therefore transmitted to the calipers.
Alloy | one-piece caliper and master cylinder CNC machined from 2014 T6 aluminium |
---|---|
Caliper type | high performance 4-piston caliper (2 x 18 mm & 2 x 16 mm) |
Mounting standard | Post Mount MTB standard |

The brakes come as a pair (front and rear) and include mounting bolts as well as 3 sets of pads for each brake.
Hope company has a strong policy regarding spare-parts: all parts are available at least 10 years after the end of production.

I haven't been able to compare to the W9 blue, but it's a pretty go complement with the SMPro anodised blue.
You need to adjust them to your desired length yourself as it will depend on many factors (stem and bars height, swingarm length…)
